Two campgrounds put on evacuation alert as crews battle wildfire in Prince Albert National Park
Dry and warm weather have led to increased fire activity and smoke at the Rabbit Creek wildfire in Prince Albert National Park, prompting a 24-hour evacuation alert for two campgrounds.
Due to increased smoke in the vicinity of the fire, the area closure includes boating on Sandy Lake, the use of trails around Sandy Lake and the area north of Sturgeon Crossing Warden Station to the Lofthouse Trail. As a precaution, the Sandy Lake and Narrows campgrounds are under a 24-hour evacuation alert
