Tank with combustible liquid catches fire at Saskatoon chemical facility
A 2,500-gallon tank nearly half full with a combustible liquid caught fire at a chemical facility in Saskatoon.
Fire crews responded to a 911 call Monday around 4:10 a.m. to a blaze at the Akzo Nobel Chemicals facility on Wanuskewin Road, according to a Saskatoon fire news release. The fire was contained to a vent stack and the tank serviced by the vent stack, while the heat radiating from the vent ignited nearby combustible roofing materials.
