Tank: City council builds a downtown entertainment district, Part Two

Monday is expected to mark the start of an effort to try to erase what many consider a gigantic mistake: The construction of Saskatoon’s arena on the city’s periphery.
City council voted 10-1 last week to focus on a downtown replacement for 30-year-old SaskTel Centre, along with a new downtown convention centre. The final vote happens at Monday’s city council meeting.
The city is expected to try to create an entertainment district in the area around the arena/convention centre.
