Tank: After 15 years, Saskatoon seems ripe for a referendum
Last week marked the 15th anniversary of the last time voters got a direct say in a civic issue through a public vote — an event that was once a staple of the democratic process in Saskatoon.
On Oct. 22, 2003, Saskatoon voters soundly defeated a proposal to build a First Nations-run casino on the parking lot north of Midtown Plaza.
