Sports briefs: Saskatoon Valkyries lose home opener

The Regina Riot spoiled the host Saskatoon Valkyries home opener, dishing out a 28-7 victory over the Valkyries at Griffiths Stadium on Saturday night. The Valkyries fall to 1-1 on the season while the defending Western Women’s Canadian Football League champion Riot improve to 2-0.
