SPCA warns about spread of potentially deadly, contagious dog virus
The Saskatoon SPCA is warning pet owners to get their dogs vaccinated after several dogs infected with the potentially fatal parvovirus have come into its shelter within the last couple of weeks.
Parvovirus is a contagious disease that affects puppies and adult dogs, but does not affect other animal species or humans. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea, as well as lethargy and a decline in appetite.
