Saskatoon Public Schools not renewing contracts for 29 educational assistants

The Saskatoon Public School Division has “topped out” on its budget for temporary positions and will not renew contracts for 29 educational assistants in the new year.
In a notice to members, Scott Barrett, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 8443, said “there may be some shuffling of E.A.’s (sic) across the system to accommodate needs in schools being affected.”
