Saskatoon public schools hiring 21 new teachers

Saskatoon’s public school division will hire more than 21 new teachers, despite having a budgetary shortfall of more than $15 million for the upcoming 2018-19 budget.
On Tuesday, the province’s largest school division passed its budget, but it was far from balanced. A report headed to the board of trustees on Tuesday detailed expenses of $267.6 million, compared to revenue of roughly $251.9 million.
