Saskatoon police kept busy on New Year's Eve

The number of calls made to Saskatoon police on New Year’s Eve was notable. The nature of the calls, not so much.
Police responded to 271 calls in the 12-hour period starting on Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. That qualifies as a busy night, Staff Sgt. Tonya Gresty said on Tuesday. Even with a high number of calls, there was “nothing significant or exciting,” she said.
For comparison sake, Gresty noted, a busy summer night will usually include around 200 calls.
