Saskatoon police, explosives unit respond to suspicious package

A suspicious package examined during morning rush hour by Saskatoon’s explosives disposal unit did not contain a threat to public safety.
Saskatoon patrol officers responded Wednesday around 7:45 a.m. to a report of a suspicious package in the 800 block of 51st Street East, police said in a news release. A canine trained in explosives detection and a member of the explosives disposal unit also responded to the scene, determining there was no threat.
