Saskatoon man attacks city road equipment, barricades himself inside home

A man who attacked a Saskatoon city grader, and then the street sweeper that came to clean up the mess, was barricaded in a home on Hilliard Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were first called at about 7:30 a.m. after a man threw an “incendiary device” at a grader and then hit the grader with a baseball bat, according to a Saskatoon Police Service news release. The grader operator ran away and wasn’t hurt and the man also ran away, police said.
