Saskatoon city council reflects on city manager's 'wonderful career'

At his final city council meeting, Saskatoon city councillors praised retiring city manager Murray Totland as approachable and unflappable.
Educated as an engineer, Totland began working for the city in the mid-1970s as a summer student, then spent almost all of his working life with the City of Saskatoon.
Totland, 60, surprised many with the announcement in September that he was leaving the top job at city hall midway through a lucrative five-year contract, which included retention bonuses.
