Saskatchewan urges Senate to pass transportation bill as CN Rail apologizes for grain backlog

As one of Canada’s major railways apologizes for its role in an ongoing backlog of western grain, the Saskatchewan government is urging the Canadian Senate to pass new transportation legislation “in a timely manner.”
In a letter sent to Sen. David Tkachuk, chair of the upper chamber’s transportation committee, Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart and Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit outlined their support for the Transportation Modernization Act.
