Saskatchewan Highway Patrol to take on more law enforcement duties

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers are receiving tactical training and will be joining the provincial Protection and Response Team.
The new name of the group will be the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol and they will be given greater policing responsibilities that will expand beyond commercial vehicles to the general public, including apprehending impaired drivers, speeders, and other traffic offences.
