Roughriders star Duron Carter makes third court appearance on pot charge

One day before the Saskatchewan Roughriders kick off their regular season, the latest court date for the team’s star receiver on a marijuana charge ended with a third adjournment.
Duron Carter, 27, was not present Thursday morning in Saskatoon provincial court. His lawyer, Regina-based Louis Mercier, appeared by telephone and requested the adjournment. The appearance lasted less than five minutes.
Carter, who is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is scheduled to return to court on June 27.
