Quietly 'pushing the envelope': Pat Prokopchuk leads the pack in sit ski innovation

Pat Prokopchuk had never set foot on skis before she moved to Saskatoon in the 1960s to start studying science at the University of Saskatchewan.
She fell into the sport by chance. Some of her new friends were passionate about skiing and Prokopchuk decided to give it a try. She’d grown up in the small Saskatchewan community of Bienfait, about 220 kilometres southeast of Regina, and had spent her childhood seizing every opportunity to get involved in new activities.
