Province relieved after CP, Teamsters avert lengthy strike
Saskatchewan farmers and potash miners are likely breathing easier now that the third Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. strike since 2012 ended just a few hours after it began.
“Rail service is essential for the Saskatchewan economy … We’re a captive market for rail, and it’s a deal-killer for us if we don’t have it,” Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart said Wednesday afternoon.
