Province gathers for 50th anniversary of Gardiner Dam

Saskatchewan is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Gardiner Dam.
The province hosted a tour of the facility Friday, busing attendees to the site on the northern edge of Diefenbaker Lake near Outlook.
Nearly 1,000 people came to the celebration including family members of the dam's namesake, Saskatchewan's fourth Premier James Gardiner.
Several people who helped build the dam attended as well.
Friends Bert Lukey and Dennis Matthews were hired right out of university to work on the project.
