PotashCorp, Agrium CEOs got raises in run-up to merger

The former chief executives of Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. and Agrium Inc. both received significant raises during the year leading up to their companies’ merger, which formed Nutrien Ltd. on Jan. 1.
Jochen Tilk, who ran PotashCorp and now serves as the combined company’s executive chairman, earned US$7.1 million last year, substantially more than the US$3.9 million he received in compensation in 2016, corporate filings show.
