Police in Saskatchewan busy dealing with freedom of information requests

REGINA — A move in Saskatchewan to include municipal police forces in the province’s Freedom of Information Act has resulted in a stream of requests, police in Regina say.
Jo Baumgartner, executive director of corporate services with the Regina Police Service, says there’s been in excess of a request per day since the change took effect Jan. 1.
So far, only one new staff member has been hired to take on the requests and Baumgartner says some of them are very resource-intensive
