Paulsen: Organics program faces hurdle of complacency
Nothing has made so much sense, or been so difficult to embrace, as a household organics diversion program in Saskatoon.
Essentially, an organics program is a fancy term for a collection system for, primarily, biodegradable items in your home, such as food. You take your apple cores, gunk off the lids of your jars and that mouldy salad in the back of your fridge and save it in a little container in your kitchen. Eventually, you will empty that pile of heaven into another bin on your property.
