One dead after stolen truck rams police car

A man is dead and a police officer is in hospital after a chase Monday night.
 
Police said officers spotted a stolen pickup truck in the area of Avenue D North and 33rd Street West around 9 p.m.
 
From there, the police plane shadowed the truck to Clearwater Place, a cul-de-sac in the River Heights neighbourhood.
 
Patrol officers then tried to do a traffic stop, at which point the truck reportedly rammed a police cruiser before speeding off.
