New library structure threatens jobs, union says

A new organizational structure at the Saskatoon Public Library has employees jittery about their futures.
About 40 library employees and supporters rallied on Monday outside City Hall, where Yvonne Siermacheski of CUPE local 2669 said more than 20 positions were eliminated this year and it’s possible all workers will have to reapply to work at one of the library branches to stay employed by April.
