New community grocery store to open this summer in Riversdale

A former liquor store in the heart of Riversdale is expected to reopen this summer as a store its owners describe as a community grocer with the basics and a focus on healthy food. 
The property at the corner of 20th Street and Avenue D once housed a Safeway. Soul Foods co-owner Mallory Guenther said her company’s expansion into the space beginning in June will benefit the neighbourhood. 
“We do have some of the basic grocery items now but as we expand into the new Soul Foo
