Mother and two-year-old son collaborate on 44-painting art show

Brandi Hofer doesn’t believe in shutting her children out of her studio. 
In fact, they’re invited to get messy.
“I want to show them the beauty of mark making, dancing, and expressing yourself with a brush stroke or a splash of paint,” says Hofer.
To that end, Hofer and her son Gus, aged two, have created 44 paintings together, most of which are portraits of local parents who volunteered.
“This series aims to speak about my triumphs and struggles as a mother.
