Minister unveils details of new PrairiesCan development agency

The federal government is unveiling the creation of two new regional economic development agencies to replace Western Economic Diversification Canada. Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) will assume all of WEDC's former funding of $149 million in the last budget, and will add seven new offices to WEDC's existing sites in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
