Man in custody allegedly sets sheet on fire in police cell

A 43-year-old man is facing an arson charge after he allegedly lit a bed sheet on fire while he was in custody in a Saskatoon police cell.
The incident happened Monday, just before 1 p.m.
Police say the man had a lighter concealed on him at the time he was booked into detention. The incident caused minor damage.
A police spokesperson said they are not looking at changing policies as this time, as it was just “something that unfortunately got missed.”
