Man arrested after trying to steal truck with passenger asleep inside

Talk about a rude awakening.
A 26-year-old man is facing charges of theft of a vehicle and driving while impaired following a short foot-chase on Aug. 4 after he attempted to steal a truck with a passenger asleep inside.
According to a police news release, at roughly 11 p.m. an intoxicated man entered an unlocked vehicle at a gas station in the 100 block of Ruth Street East while the vehicle’s owner was inside the gas station.
