Local senior stitches quilt to honour Canada Day
After owning a dairy farm and working as a school custodian, John Friesen is not one for letting his hands fall idle.
The 87-year-old, who lives with his wife Anne in Lawson Heights, now enjoys spending his days quilting, a pastime he took up after a spinal surgery left him paralyzed on the right side of his body.
