Proposed user fee
Regarding the garbage user fee: A promise of lowering taxes by 3.5 per cent does nothing for half this city. My taxes are $2,500/year, so that would save me $87.50/year. A far cry from the proposed “user fee.”
The business dictionary gives the definition of user fee as “a fee charged for the use of a product or service.” Unlike a tax which is imposed upon the general population, the user fee is charged to an individual only when that individual uses
