Letter of the Day: SaskTel leaving land lines behind

A SaskTel commercial on the radio promoted the Fibre Optic infiNET, saying, “who doesn’t want faster internet?”
I like fast internet. I expect everybody does.
I have a land line. The one you plug into the wall. I rely on it to keep me connected during power outages.
A friend told me she discovered her land line was on battery backup, and would last eight hours during a power outage. She couldn’t afford to buy the battery so was dropping her land line. I was baff
