Letter of the Day: Saskatchewan sorrow

Saskatchewan sorrow
I am suffering from what I call Saskatchewan Sorrow — sorrow for the loss of the province I loved with its strong social safety net and programs that supported the common good. This vision of how our tax dollars should be spent is greatly diminished and disappearing fast.
I wonder why a government with such a strong focus on the economy couldn’t have foreseen and planned for the predictable downturn of resource-based revenues. I think what hurts almost as much as
