In response to the report “Maddin says he wasn’t Pride Parade pioneer as Saskatoon mayor” (SP, July 4).
While former mayor Jim Maddin (2000-2003) did not march in the city’s first two Pride parades, on council and as mayor he proved a stalwart and effective ally of the local gay and lesbian communities.
