Letter of the Day: Libraries critical to democracy

I would like to express my support for Saskatoon Public Library workers as they face uncertainty about their employment future during the current proposed restructuring process.
Libraries play a critical role in our democracy by providing access to information for all citizens of our city no matter their status or position. They are some of the last truly public spaces, where anyone can go to learn and interact without being inundated by commercial messaging.
