Re “Saskatchewan hunters donate more heads for chronic wasting disease testing” (SP, Feb. 13)
According to this article, chronic wasting disease (CWD) was brought to Saskatchewan by importing infected elk from South Dakota, and it then likely spread through infected saliva. This unnecessary incident is now taking the lives of thousands of innocent animals, and could have been avoided if humans had respected the ecosystem balance.
