Letter of the Day: Emergency services need plowed streets
Although measuring ruts and not plowing residential streets until a certain depth or at all is a good excuse for the city to save money, it is no excuse for safety or emergency services and their ability to respond.
As a heavy equipment operator understanding loaded vehicles, I am quite sure that if there was a fire in my neighbourhood a loaded fire truck with water would not be coming up my street when the cars can’t even move, sinking below the unplowed layers.
