Letter of the Day: City should toss plans for trash

Frankly, I think the move to charge for garbage collection is trash.
1. It assumes everyone is throwing away one of three levels of garbage every collection day, which is very unlikely. A per bag or charge for volume would be more fair. It’d encourage people to actually use less.
2. The rates are already high at the start — $20 a month for four collections per month in the summer and two per month in the winter, with talk they’ll increase fees annually. I’d rather save my
