Lentil giant managers want to take company private

One of the world’s largest lentil companies could be going private.
Backed by a Toronto-based financial giant, AGT Food and Ingredients Inc. executives are proposing to buy back most of its shares for $18 each, a 37 per cent premium over Wednesday’s closing price.
Under the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd.-backed proposal, Fairfax, Point North Capital Inc. and the executives, including CEO Murad Al-Katib, would retain their existing holdings in the company.
