Late spring delayed seeding in much of Saskatchewan
Winter seemed like it would never end. But once it was gone, it left seeding delays and moisture concerns.
Mike Borschowa said farmers in southwest Saskatchewan started seeding the end of the first week of May — about a week later than normal.
He blames a late spring that came all at once, taking southern Saskatchewan by surprise.
“It’s been cold for so long that I don’t think guys were ready,” he said.
