'It's a very frightening experience': Armed robberies up 27% in Saskatoon
While an armed robbery takes minutes, if not seconds, it can have long-term effects on store employees.
Calista Welker, who manages a drug store on the east side of Saskatoon, says her workplace has been hit twice in as many months — first on Sept. 5, and again on Thursday evening, when a man armed with bear spray robbed the store.
It takes a toll on employees, even if they are not physically harmed in a confrontation with a robber, she said.
