Inside the Classroom: Grade 5 students become published authors at Lakeridge School

Some students at Saskatoon’s Lakeridge School are already published authors, and they’re only in Grade 5.
For a language arts exercise, students at the school collaborated and worked individually to brainstorm, outline, write and edit stories that were published as a collection of short stories entitled Why the Coyote Yelps: Fifth Grade Pourquoi Tales.
Teachers at the school said the project helped students understand the publishing process and the work that goes into it.
