'I didn't know what was possible. I didn't know how far I could go': Saskatoon cyclist breaks world record in gruelling 24-hour time trial
Riding her bicycle through the night, completing endless loops through the California desert, Meaghan Hackinen had no idea how well she was doing, except that she felt good and kept passing other racers.
Hours later, after a full day in the saddle, the 33-year-old Saskatoon cyclist finished the 24 Hour World Time Trial Championships after covering 734 kilometres, smashing the previous world record by almost 40 kilometres.
