Huskies weekend roundup: Vance shines on night her mother is honoured

On the night her mother was honoured before the game, Jessica Vance was perfect in stopping all 11 shots she faced in leading the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women’s hockey team to a 3-0 victory.
Vance’s mother Liane, who is battling cancer, dropped the puck for the ceremonial face off on Play for a Cure Night Friday at Merlis Belsher Place. The Huskies donned special jerseys that will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
