“Pretty much stuff like that,” says Ekior-Dourde Mieyefa, his finger pointing to a long-jump pit at Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park.
“No grass. The weather was not good. Rain was always falling. So, most of the time we’d look for sand and play on the sand.”
Growing up in southwestern Nigeria, Mieyefa would often kick the soccer ball around with friends, but it was never anything structured or formal.
