Huskies' Olenick captures national weight-throw gold

University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ weight thrower Olena Olenick captured a national gold medal Thursday in Windsor.
Olenick, competing at the U Sports national track and field championship, recorded a women’s gold-medal throw of 18.85 metres, bettering runner-up Sarah Mitton of Windsor (17.79).
The bronze medal was won by the University of Regina’s Reagan Fedak, who threw 17.7 metres.
The championships resumed Friday and wrap up Saturday.
