Gardening: Allium 'Millenium' – Worth trying in sheltered locations

I’ve often thought that ornamental onions were disadvantaged merely by dint of their name. If you refer to them as “onions”, we’re inclined to think stew. If called by their botanical name, Allium, many are unfamiliar with what is being discussed. Yet they remain a genus of great value, both in terms of their culinary and ornamental use.
