FSIN supports redress for forced sterilization
First Nations chiefs in Saskatchewan have agreed to work with Indigenous women who were coerced into having tubal ligations as they pursue justice.
The chiefs passed the resolution at the spring assembly of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) Wednesday at Whitecap Dakota First Nation, where Vice-Chief Heather Bear said the practice, uncovered in 2015 in Saskatoon was “very, very disturbing.”
