Footprints in fresh snow help Saskatoon police nab suspect

Fresh footprints gave police a pretty clear clue about a man who was breaking into parked cars in Saskatoon.
Police were dispatched at 4 a.m. to the 400 block of Avenue J South after a witness reported a man was breaking into a parked vehicle.
When officers arrived, they saw two vehicles with broken driver’s side windows — and a “single, distinct shoe pattern” nearby in the freshly fallen snow, according to a Saskatoon Police Service news release.
