Food: Cold autumn weather begets warm autumn soup

The birds have packed their bags and are calling out their goodbyes as we speak.  I’ve switched up my cool, cotton sheets for the cozy flannel ones, which now makes getting out of bed much more difficult – especially when the cats have decided they like flannel sheets, too.  Boots and scarves have replaced flip flops and tank tops.  Copious ice cream consumption has been replaced by plenty of apple crisps, topped with heaping scoops of vanilla ice cream, of course.&nbs
