Feds confirm they're moving forward with community's request to exonerate Chief Poundmaker

Minister of Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Carolyn Bennett’s office has confirmed the federal government plans to move forward on a request from Poundmaker Cree Nation to exonerate Chief Poundmaker.
In a statement emailed to the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, Bennett’s office said it looks forward to working with the band’s chief, Duane Antoine, and the community to “address historic grievances and build a relationship into the future based on mutual respect.”
